I saw the operetta Gräfin Mariza by Emmerich Kalman tonight in Budapest. It was an awesome performance with great dance elements and a lively audience —quite unexpected for someone who knew only stiff German and Austrian operas.

Seeing the piece really lit up a flame for the Hungarian culture. I am glad I have the entire weekend left in this city!
