Coma Divine

While discussing Porcupine Tree's live album Coma Divine, my friend Hanspeter remarked: "the album is almost too perfect to be recorded live."

It is true that the album is not a recording of a single live show, but rather a mix across three evenings of concert in Rome. This is not surprising, often live records are remastered in the studio, and audience noise is added or removed ad libidum.

However, Steven Wilson, Porcupine Tree lead and producer of the album, has done a truly amazing job on this recording. Almost too amazing, according to Hanspeter. Which I countered with: "it's Steven Wilson, after all..."

Highly recommended.
