I filed an HP support request on 22 January. On 23 January, I received the following mail:

Your support request regarding,HP LaserJet 3052 All-In-One E-Mail Support, was received 1/22/2008, 9:41:14 AM. Your unique ID is 532458. A support engineer will be getting back to you, via email, within the next business day to address your issue. We appreciate your patience.

By 28 January I had not heard back from them. Why do they even bother to send such auto-replies?

Update: 7 March and three pings later — still not a single word from HP.
